the cake

mrs mouseMrs Mouse is buying a birthday cake for all her hundreds of baby mice from the magic cake shop and Mrs Honeypot has run out of ingredients. So, Hoggy the Hedgehog sets off across the garden to get some for her. On his travels he meets up with Martin the Mole (who lives in the tree), Mrs Pecking Bird and her chicks, a talking tree and Gregory the Fox. Eventually Hoggy collects all the ingredients and arrives at Mrs Honeypot's kitchen to set about making the cake. When the cake is baked Hoggy goes off to cut up the cake to share with all the children, but comes back without it....he's eaten it all.

hoggy the hedgehogThe show is broken up with songs and lots of slapstick style humour, the kids love it. This production was first performed in 1994 and has been one of our best shows to date. The performance lasts for approx. 45 minutes to one hour (depending on age ) and is suitable for children from 4 to 10 years. Children can be as young as three but would need some older children with them or one or two adults.

There is no booth just a box standing about 4 feet high. The operator stands behind the box so that the top half of him is visible to the audience, he then becomes one of the players in the show using himself and simple masks to change his character. The puppets are large colourful glove, rod and Muppet style.

The performance area would need to be 8 feet - 10 feet wide x 5 feet in depth. Depending on the venue a power socket would be needed if performing outside or in a large hall.

Remember - Book Early to Avoid Disappointment!
